Companion Guide
Our hope is that this guide will help you and the people you care about.
Don't put it on a shelf. Share it with someone you love.
Created by the Praise Out Cancer Foundation (POCF), the Cancer Awareness Workshop Companion Guide: Your Guide to Education, Early Detection & Hope is a practical, easy-to-understand resource designed to help individuals and families become better informed about cancer, early detection, recommended screenings, risk factors, healthy lifestyle choices, and available community resources.
Developed for POCF Cancer Awareness Workshop participants, the Guide supports learning during the workshop and continues as a take-home reference and conversation starter afterward. Readers are encouraged to revisit the information, prepare questions for their healthcare providers, and share what they learn with family, friends, and others in their communities.
Designed for cancer survivors, individuals undergoing treatment, caregivers, loved ones, and community members, the Guide is not intended to make readers cancer experts. Its purpose is to provide understandable information that can encourage informed conversations and positive action.
Ultimately, POCF hopes workshop participants become informed readers—and informed readers become community messengers who help others through what they have learned.
Education Makes Early Detection Possible.
Early Detection Saves Lives.
Each One—Help One.
One Conversation Can Change One Life.
